Had a wonderful weekend :)
On Thursday afternoon, after Caroline’s class, I met her at the school library to borrow some books for inspiration. I was itching to just sketch. I haven’t really had time to do stuff that I want to do.. usually it’s homework 24/7, so there really is no time to sketch out ideas. I borrowed 4 books that are absolutely wonderful! There’s one I especially enjoy, which is called Girly Graphics. It’s a Japanese design book that is based on ‘Girly’ designs.
Friday we didn’t do too much. In the evening I went with Caroline to hang out with Sofia and Anika.. who are both Danish. It was slightly awkward being not able to understand, but it’s no biggy. We were suppose to head to a party.. well, we did, but at 10:45PM. Slightly late, but I’m sure that was when it began.. maybe? To sum it up, we barely stayed for an hour, shivering in the cold.
Yesterday, we said we wouldn’t do anything but bum around at home, and enjoying being at home, but Caroline and I ended up going out to City Walk with Chris, Chad, Paul, Ahndi and Kelly. City Walk is in Hollywood, a part of Universal City / Universal Studios. I had never been there so it was really nice to see and be a tourist ! While heading there, we made a pit stop and got In-N-Out Animal style fries, as I had been begging for them. Super yummy, but extremely heavy. The rest of the drive was a little frustrating. Los Angeles freeway entrances are really abrupt, and we kept missing them!
As we were driving near Hollywood, I noticed an adorable shop.. cute eh?!
We got there around 7:30-8PMish. The rest of them ate at Bubba Gump, which is the restaurant to go if you want shrimp. The waiter was a mean guy.. not cool! Especially when the tip is ridiculously 18%. After finishing eating, we walked around and looked at the shops. There were random ones, like Hot Topic, Chocolate shops, candy shops, Fossil.. etc. There’s actually not too much to it, unless you go into Universal Studios.
The rest of the night just consisted of walking around. The rest left early, as Caroline and I spent more time on the Walk. I didn’t want to leave!! It was so pretty with all the lights. It would be fun going on a date there bow2icon
On Saturday afternoon, before heading to Universal City Walk, we were at the metal/wood shop and cut up some bamboo. Caroline had picked up a bunch at Laguna beach, so we used it to make jewelry. I think out of all the types of wood, bamboo is definitely the most beautiful! <3. Here’s my new ring. We had just cut it with a large mitre saw and sanded it. You could probably use the band saw.
