This week started off pretty well.. noth­ing to excit­ing, just school. My draw­ing and comp II teacher (the new one) is def­i­nitely not a pos­i­tive change for me. Her teach­ing style is very strict and strate­gic.. one that I don’t work well under. I wish I had the pre­vi­ous teacher, as she was very.. free and lib­eral. This new teacher does not let us lis­ten to music or talk. It’s quite dry when you’re draw­ing a still life.. there’s noth­ing extremely ‘excit­ing’ about sit­ting there, lis­ten­ing to your soft pas­tels scratch against the tex­tured page. Nuh uh.

I scanned a few pages of my sketch­book. I never really had a habit of using my sketch­book for ideas or sketches.….….… but I am try­ing to use it more often, whether for sketches or just brain storm­ing. I use to hate doing rough draw­ings of my ideas.. but I think it’s a good habit to start try­ing. The other rea­son is because the sketch­book was out­ra­geously expen­sive, and if I don’t use it, my guilt will come alive.
